Updated – Temporary Closures – Eythorne, Nonington & Frogham– from 31 July 2017
It will be necessary to close certain roads in Eythorne, Nonington & Frogham in the Dover area, from Monday 31st July 2017 onwards.
This bulletin corrects the dates and replaces the bulletin issued on 13th July 2017, with my apologies.
Closures affect the following roads
- Barfrestone Road, Eythorne
- Nightingale Lane, Nonington
- The Street, Frogham
BARFRESTONE ROAD, EYTHORNE will be closed in the vicinity of the junction with Church Hill
Closure from Monday 31st July to 18th August 2017
Access to the remainder of Barfrestone Road continues from a western direction up to where the road is closed. The alternative route for through traffic is via Barfrestone Road, Long Lane, Shepherdswell Road and Church Hill
NIGHTINGALE LANE, NONINGTON / THE STREET, FROGHAM will be closed in phases at various points along their length, to the extent indicated by signage and barriers on site
Phased closures are planned from Monday 21st August 2017 onwards, with estimated completion by October 2017
The alternative route for through traffic is via Sandwich Road, Snowdown Road, Forstal Road, Nethersole Road, Firs Road and The Street (Frogham). Access to the remainder of the road continues from either direction up to the point of closure.
Access for residents will be maintained whenever it is safe to do so, but there are likely to be delays and certain times when this is not possible for safety reasons. The closures are to enable gas mains replacement works to be carried out by Forefront Utilities Ltd, working with SGN Gas.
Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the roads outside the working hours. There is a chance that the works may over-run for such reasons as adverse weather conditions or unforeseen engineering difficulties.
